Two Tweet Birdies and Two Pink Peonies

This is another lovely slimline card – these things are super popular in Europe! I follow a blog from Poland, and I think these are practically the only size they post!!

The background papers are a mix from Little Birdie Crafts “Birds and Blooms” and Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Medly. The wee birdhouse came from Heartfelt Creations Climbing Clematis collection. The white doily is a HFC die, and the flowers are medium size clematis, and small peony. Leaves again are a mishmash! Sentiment is from Creative Expressions, and I suppose I should’ve selected white, instead of gold, but I do so love glitter and shine.

Have to admit, I messed up on this, I always seem to “have “ to add a ribbon/bow, but in the image here, you can’t see the cute paper I (so carefully selected, lol) inside of the doily!!

Below you can see a closeup of my flowers – I really love making my own flowers, there are so many varieties, and you can have such a different look, using the same ink, depending on how much ink you use, and if you add a crystal lacquer. Such fun!

The sentiment is another from Creative Expressions: So Glad We’re Friends – and that really is a nice sentiment, isn’t it?!

Below is a card using more of the pink peonies – really large ones, combined with a “newish” octagonal die from Heartfelt Creations. It was really rather simple to put together, but is just so elegant! (Less really is sometimes more, isn’t it!)

I used Momento Vibrant Fuschia for the ink on these flowers, and the die cut overlay is from a glossy/metallic paper I found at a local craft shop.
Here is the inside! I stamped, colored & die cut the rose image, and the message is from Creative Expressions, using the same glossy/metallic paper I used for the overlay on the front.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip Cookies (Keto)

I’m in love with peanut butter! Generally I prefer Peter Pan Honey Roast Crunchy peanut butter – but in actuality, I will take almost ANY peanut butter I can get ahold of.

In the grocery stores, you will find prepackaged mixes for peanut butter cookies, by Betty Crocker (I think) – when the kids were little (and I was too!) I would mix these up, add some chocolate chips, and then, get this, roll them in brown sugar before baking. OMGOODNESS whatever was I thinking? (They were delicious!!)

Nowadays I have learned that less sugar is better, but I still crave those cookies! so I had to come up with a keto friendly version. I’ve been stalling, because, you see, I still had a couple of those package mixes in the cupboard; but I finally mixed them up and gave the cookies to my Sunday school kids! They didn’t mind one bit that there was real sugar in them!

So here’s your Recipe:

Ingredients

1/2 cup Monk Fruit
1/2 cup Golden Monk Fruit
1/2cup peanut butter
1/4cup Crisco Butter-flavored shortening
1/4cup butter, softened
1 XL EB egg
1 1/4 cups Almond flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 pkg Hershey’s Sugar-free Chocolate chips

(Easily doubled)

Mix the butter, shortening, peanut butter, Monk Fruit, and eggs until well blended. Add in the almond flour, soda, powder and salt, and mix until smooth, and all dry ingredients have been incorporated in. Toss in the Sugar-free chocolate chips, and mix these in by hand. At this point, you can put the dough in the refrigerator for a couple of hours if you want, or you can start rolling them into balls right away. This makes about 25 fairly large cookies. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350°F. Let them cool long enough so you don’t burn your fingers! They get chewier the next day.

<2gm saturated fats, and 1.2gms carbs/cookie, assuming 25 cookies for the batch

Pastel Greeting Card

This delightful greeting card uses Heartfelt Creations Floral Borders papers, and HFC Classic Rose and Lush Lilac dies for the flowers. It measures about 9″ x 4″, and features a sentiment from Creative Expressions.

I roughed up the edges of the white border and the pale turquoise paper, and although you can’t see much of it, wrapped a couple of strips of thin organza ribbon around the paper, before attaching the flowers. There are several different leaves used here – two of which are not even remotely associated with the flowers I chose! And of course a ribbon. No lace this time, but I almost felt like that would be a bit too much. Less is more sometimes.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll try to be more regular, now that the holidays are behind us!!

Love is in the Air!

Design #3 for February, and then I’m done….gotta play with something other than red for a while!!
The background paper is from G45 “Floral Shoppe”, the white die cut, swan and peonies & leaves from Hearfelt Creations dies (hand made by moi), and the lily of the valley are from an old generic punch. I’m sorry the gold embossing is catching the light there so much, couldn’t be helped!

Thanks for looking!

Love is in the (Lacy) Air

I have to give credit where credit is due, this was an idea I stole from a Facebook friend, and then I had to tweak it, and turn it into my own.

She had many many roses on her card, and they must’ve come out smaller than mine, but that’s ok, because I also added a shaker box where the heart is! Cute, huh?!!

Then I had to figure out how to keep it propped up, so I put a couple of pieces of paper in the middle to act as a brace.

This is definitely NOT a card you could mail, lol! It would get totally ruined in a box, or mailbox!

I had a lot of fun with this one, I really need to get off this Valentines kick, but I fear, there is more ahead!!

Happy Everything card

Forgot about this lovely, and created her before Christmas! (I think!) The arched gatefold card is probably my new favorite, it is just so darn versatile!!

I used my favorite Heartfelt Creations paper, Sweet Peony, and an ornate arch gateway die. My sentiment comes from Creative Expressions – they make more things than sentiment dies, but that’s one of my favorite tools! I just love, love, love, my die cuts!!

The lighter colored flowers were made with the Climbing Clematis, medium sized flower, and the Peonies, of course, one large, one smaller – I have a lot of fun making flowers!

The inside has another one of the arched gateway dies, and the center sentiment came from Creative Expressions, as I said before, placed between the flowers on the Floral Borders Sweet Peony die – those floral border dies are so versatile!

I just love this card, hope you do too!!

Getting Ready for Valentine’s (part 2)

This is actually from LAST year – so forgive me if this is a duplicate!

This is a tri-fold card from Heartfelt Creations, using one of their dies, and the swans are from their Calla Lily collection. The flowers are actually from the Cherry Blossom collection, just in a deep red. The scalloped edged heart has glitter on it as well, and the seams were embossed in glittery gold. The chipboard “forever“ sentiment I found at a local craft store. It’s a little frilly – but he liked it! (He likes everything I make! He’s nice like that!!)
