Floral Encouragement Card

Having fun making peonies lately . . . I needed an excuse to make a white Peony, so I rummaged around my Heartfelt Creations paper packs, and landed on the Floral Banners.

I used the lace from one of their dies, for the pink Lily I actually used the small daffodil die, without the trumpet center, the medium pink are peony “buds” using the small peony dies; the bright pink are the small petunia, and the light blue “blossom” are from the smallest cherry blossom die. So basically 99% HFC products, and a little bit of my time. Can you see the floral “banner” under the dimensional flowers? (Trying to be like the pros there, lol! without the fussy cutting!)

The little bird came from my stash, you’ve probably seen them at craft stores too, I just put some glossy accent on it to make it shine; and the sentiment is from a Tim Holtz package of chipboard sentiments.

For the middle of the card, I used more of the same HFC paper from the Floral Banners (same sheet of paper throughout, just using the front and the back, and I have a sentiment from a sticker pack you can’t really see in there.

Y’all don’t pay any attention to the fact that the bottom lace is facing the wrong way and should’ve been tucked under the pink paper, ok? It’s a work in progress, and I tried to kind of cover up my mistake with some flatback pearls. It is what it is (sigh)!

Same But Different

My favorite thing: same basic design, but slightly altered in this case, different size cards, different shaped shaker boxes, different paper companies, and of course different flower focus. But the general idea remains the same, and can be duplicated over and over – I guess most things are like that, come to think about it…….two girls (both human) different shaped bodies, different skin tone & hair color, but from the same neighborhood and with similar interests. God must’ve had fun with that, lol! I mean, really, look at all His creations – some are so so similar, but not quite the same, and each different in distinct an beautiful ways! But I’m rhapsodizing!

The first card is using Heartfelt Creations Cherry Blossom Retreat. The shaker box is handmade – meaning no kit, I just cut out multiple ovals, and used clear cardstock under the lattice.

This second card is using Graphic 45’s Cottage Life paper, and it does feature a shaker box, that came from a kit.

I think this card is my favorite of the two, because I just love how the flowers came out!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and taking a peek at my creations!!

Getting Ready for Valentine’s (part 2)

This is actually from LAST year – so forgive me if this is a duplicate!

This is a tri-fold card from Heartfelt Creations, using one of their dies, and the swans are from their Calla Lily collection. The flowers are actually from the Cherry Blossom collection, just in a deep red. The scalloped edged heart has glitter on it as well, and the seams were embossed in glittery gold. The chipboard “forever“ sentiment I found at a local craft store. It’s a little frilly – but he liked it! (He likes everything I make! He’s nice like that!!)

Fairies Fairies Fairies!

Last one I swear – just kidding, I have a whole pack of G45’s Fairy Wings paper that my sweetie gave me for Christmas, and I plan on using every last sheet of it, one way or another!!

This is another combination of G45 products and Heartfelt Creations – by this time, you have already figured out the HFC flower dies are what I use almost exclusively for my flowers, and these are the Sweet Magnolias and Cherry Blossoms. The other HFC element is the light blue circle around the fairies – it is actually the “waste” from one of the Centerpiece dies – which I cut out of heavy white cardstock, AND some shiny blue paper to give dimension to it, and frame the fairies.

Just a close up of the fairies and flowers.

Aaaand the inside. G45 often will have a “collectors pack” or “deluxe pack” with their papers that includes bonus stickers which are fun little things – sometimes I pop them up on some chip board for dimension, sometimes not.

Thanks for stopping by!

Fairy Wings Shaker Card/Folio

I’m in love with Graphic 45’s Fairies – whether its the Fairy Dust or Fairy Wings paper, they are both just adorable. This card is really sort of like a folio/gift card, as you will see – the inside has a pocket that has goodies inside. This is another card I may enter into a DT contest.

The flowers were made using fomiron (thin thin foam sheets) and Heartfelt Creations Sweet Magnolia (small) dies, and the medium Cherry Blossom dies – then I hit them with just a touch of heat from the heat gun (low heat) to get things to curl just so.

The sprinkles were from “Buttons Galore” – its a cool little shop that tells you how many spoonfuls of each different kind of sprinkle you will get in your package, and they have lots of variety!

I made the shaker element by hand – somewhat trickier than the premade kits – I had a couple of heart shaped dies, clear cardstock, and about 1/4″ wide strips of sticky foam to lift it up. All this stuff was in my “stash” – the sprinkles, the foam, the ribbon – its amazing how well it all came together. The ribbon was from Hobby Lobby, I think.

Isn’t this just precious? The colors go so well together!

Here’s the inside there’s a little booklet, a tag or two, and a treat!
